The Hike
On a warm August evening there is nothing we like more than going on a long hike along the coast or into the mountains. On this particular evening we decided to hike around an isolated headland on the Inishowen peninsula that we had not been to before . Paul was still nursing a sore leg since the paint balling incident so we thought this would be an easier option than the mountains we would usually head for. I decided it would be a nice opportunity to bring along my new X5 and play guitar in the great outdoors.
The Gig bag for this guitar is excellent and strapping it to my back it was in no way going to impede my progress on what turned out to be a pretty heavy going hike.
As we headed around the headland the cliffs rose higher and the views more impressive and it turned out that all these years we had by passed one of the most beautiful areas on the Peninsula. We found a few incredible spots were the cliffs dropped at least 800 feet straight into the ocean below. It seemed like the right place to sit and play a few tunes on the X5 Life. Its amazing how inspiring a place like that can be and I found myself coming up with all kinds of new stuff that became a soundtrack for the views in front of me.
It’s a great feeling of freedom being out in the open where no trace of civilisation can be found but it is even better being able to bring along a guitar and channel the freedom into music.
An I-pod can only carry 10,000 songs but an X5’s song storage is limitless!
